Woodsum Spur
Oxford County, Maine is home to the Puzzle Mountain and Woodsum Spur Trails. The Stewart Preserve is where the trail starts. It was named after Bob Stewart who donated his land to the Mahoosuc Land Trust. Ken Woodsum was a conservationist, forester, and pioneer in the creation of the current trail.
Puzzle Mountain Trail, which is an lollipop-style loop hike and combines Grafton Loop Trail with Woodsum Trail, offers stunning views of western Maine. The Stewart Family Preserve's parking area is located just off Route 26, making it easy to access the trail.

Grafton Loop Trail
Grafton Loop Trail offers panoramic views for hikers. Hikers can start at the Grafton Mountain or Old Speck Mountain trailheads. They will eventually reach the Bald mountain parking lot at the end. The trail is not difficult but does require some skill.
The Grafton Loop Trail has many scenic overlooks. This loop runs for 39 miles and connects the Appalachian Trail to Grafton Notch State Park. It also passes through private property. Because the trail crosses private land, designated campsites are mandatory and campfires are prohibited.
Mahoosuc Land Trust
In addition to owning a beautiful piece of land, the Mahoosuc Land Trust has also purchased the McCoy-Chapman Forest, a 500-acre tract west of Bethel, Maine, that spans the Androscoggin River to the Mahoosuc Range. The land was gifted by the family a former landowner. It is now available for all year-round recreation. This project is in collaboration with the Friends of the Androscoggin.

The Community Visioning Conference, held in Bethel, resulted the creation and formation of the Mahoosuc Land Trust. Kirk Siegel, Tim Carter, and Kirk Carter created the organization after the Community Visioning Conference.
